About Village of Chestnut Ridge  Chestnut Ridge is a small 4.9 square mile village entirely in the boundaries of the Town of Ramapo Rockland County, New York, it is east of the hamlet of Monsey; south of village Spring Valley and west of Nanuet. According to the 2000 census, the population was 7,829.

It is small village which sits on the southern edge of Rockland county, bordering New Jersey.  Most tickets and violations here are from traffic on the Garden State Parkway extension, which is the last leg (or first leg) of the Garden State Parkway as it feeds in and out of the New York State Thruway.  Most tickets are issued by the New York State Police who sit on the median on the Garden State Parkway near the last (or first if traveling south) exists.
